MÂM KIM THẢM
Imperial rugs are a unique and exquisite handcrafted art form originating from the Ningxia period. This purely handcrafted weaving technique gives imperial carpets a high value, with rich artistic content, making them highly regarded by the imperial family. The carpet designs are also very diverse in color; because they were once exclusively used by the imperial court, they are called “Imperial rugs”.
“Mâm Kim Thảm” this name comes from the fact that during weaving, craftsmen used gold threads, making the rug magnificent, opulent, and dazzlingly bright. During the early reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, this type of golden tray carpet was placed in the collection of the highest-grade objects of the imperial court, alongside Jingtai enamelware, jade ornaments, ivory carvings, and gold-inlaid lacquerware.
